Voice Recorder Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
Thank you for using Voice Recorder. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how the app handles information related to you.
Please read this policy before using the app. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
In short
- No personal information is collected; no account or sign-in is required
- Recordings are stored only on your device; the app has no internet permission and uploads nothing
- A recording leaves the app only when you choose to share it or save it to your device
- No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
1. Information we collect
Voice Recorder is an audio recording app that lets you record, play, trim, rename, share and save recordings.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information, nor do we collect device identifiers, location, contacts or usage data. The app has no account system; all features work without signing in.
The app does not request the internet permission. It is technically unable to send your recordings or any other data to a server, and we have no access to your recordings.
2. Permissions
Microphone: used only to record sound after you tap the record button. While recording, the system status bar shows that the microphone is in use; the app stops using the microphone when you pause or stop.
Notifications and foreground service: while recording, a notification shows the recording status with pause, resume and stop buttons, so recording can continue and be controlled when the screen is locked or you switch to another app.
The app does not request storage, internet, camera, location, contacts or phone permissions. You can turn off the microphone or notification permission in system settings at any time.
3. How recordings are stored
Recordings are saved in the app's private storage on your device, which other apps cannot access directly. Names, durations and dates are read from the files themselves and are not recorded or uploaded anywhere else.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in system settings permanently deletes all recordings. Use "Save to device" to keep a copy of important recordings first.
To avoid using up your cloud storage, recordings are excluded from Android's cloud backup; only a few settings such as recording quality are backed up. If you use your device's transfer feature when switching phones, recordings may be transferred along with the app data.
4. Sharing and saving to your device
When you share a recording, the app uses the system share sheet to give the app you choose temporary permission to read that file. How that app handles the recording is governed by its own privacy policy.
When you save a recording to your device, you choose the location in the system file picker, and the app writes only that one file.
5. Third-party services
The app does not include any advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Depending on your device settings, Google may collect diagnostic information such as installs and crashes, which is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, the law or our operations change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a new version materially changes how data is handled, we will notify you prominently in the app.
8. Contact us
