Notification History Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
Thank you for using Notification History. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how the app handles information related to you.
Please read this policy before using the app. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
In short
- The app reads notifications only after you grant notification access in system settings
- Notifications are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers and are excluded from cloud backup
- The app has no internet permission and includes no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- No personal information is collected; no account or sign-in is required
- You can pause recording, exclude apps, delete history or turn off access at any time
1. Information the app reads
Notification History saves the notifications you receive so you can view them again after you dismiss them, or after the sending app withdraws or deletes them. You can browse them by app, search them and export them.
After you turn on notification access for the app in system settings, the app reads the following from new notifications: the name and icon of the sending app, the title, text and subtext, the time it was posted, and when and why it was removed (for example, removed by the app or dismissed by you). Notifications may contain personal information such as chat messages, verification codes and contact names.
The app does not read images or attachments in notifications or any data inside other apps, and it does not act on notification buttons. Before you turn on notification access, the app explains all of the above and only takes you to system settings after you agree.
2. Storage and deletion
Notifications are stored only in the app's private storage. The app never sends them to our servers or to any third party. The app does not request the internet permission and is technically unable to send this information off your device.
Because notifications may contain sensitive content, the history is excluded from Android's cloud backup. It is moved to a new phone only if you use the system's device-to-device transfer.
You can choose how long history is kept (7, 30 or 90 days, 1 year, or forever); older records are deleted automatically. You can also delete a single record, all records of an app or the entire history at any time. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in system settings deletes all records.
You can pause recording, stop recording a specific app, or turn off notification access for the app in system settings at any time.
3. Permissions
Notification access: used to read notifications and save them as history. You turn it on manually in system settings and can turn it off at any time.
Querying launchable apps: used to find and open the sending app when you tap "Open app". The app does not request permission to read the list of all installed apps.
The app does not request internet, location, contacts, SMS, phone, camera, microphone or storage permissions.
4. Exporting and sharing
Notification content leaves the app only when you act: Share passes it to the app you choose in the system share sheet, Copy puts it on the clipboard, and Export as CSV saves it to the location you choose in the system file picker. Those apps and services handle the data under their own privacy policies.
5. Third-party services
The app does not include any advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Depending on your device settings, Google may collect diagnostic information such as installs and crashes, which is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, the law or our operations change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a new version materially changes how data is handled, we will notify you prominently in the app.
