Privacy Policy
NFC Reader & Writer Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
Thank you for using NFC Reader & Writer. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how the app handles information related to you.
Please read this policy before using the app. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
In short
- No personal information is collected; no account or sign-in is required
- NFC tags are read and written on your phone; their content is never uploaded to our servers
- The app has no internet permission and only requests the NFC permission
- Scan history stays on your phone, is excluded from cloud backup, and can be turned off or cleared at any time
- No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
1. Information we collect
NFC Reader & Writer reads an NFC tag's type, chip, UID and stored content (such as links, text, Wi-Fi networks and contacts), writes content you prepare to tags, and copies, erases and locks tags.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information, nor do we collect device identifiers, location, contacts or usage data. The app has no account system; all features work without signing in.
The app does not request the internet permission. It is technically unable to send tag content or any other data to our servers, and we have no access to it.
2. Scan history
By default, the app keeps a list of tags you read on your phone (time, tag type, UID and tag content) so you can look at them again or write them to other tags. Tag content may include Wi-Fi passwords or contact details, so the history is stored only in the app's private storage and is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
You can turn off "Save scan history" in Settings, delete single entries, or clear the whole history at any time. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in system settings deletes all history.
Content you prepare on the Write tab is kept only in memory while the app is running and is not saved separately.
3. Permissions
NFC: used to read and write the NFC tags you hold near your phone while the app is open. The app only works with tags while it is in the foreground and never scans in the background.
The app does not request internet, storage, camera, microphone, location or contacts permissions.
For "Open an app" records you can pick an app on your phone. The app reads only the names, icons and package names of launchable apps to show this list. It does not read any data inside those apps, and the list is not saved or uploaded.
4. Opening, connecting and sharing
Tag content is passed to the system or other apps only when you tap the matching button: opening a link, dialing a number, sending an SMS or email, showing a location on a map, adding a contact, or saving a Wi-Fi network through the system screen (on Android 11 and later the system asks you to confirm). Those apps and services handle the data under their own privacy policies.
Copying places content on the system clipboard.
5. Third-party services
The app does not include any advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Depending on your device settings, Google may collect diagnostic information such as installs and crashes, which is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, the law or our operations change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a new version materially changes how data is handled, we will notify you prominently in the app.
8. Contact us
