Measure Toolbox Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
Thank you for using Measure Toolbox. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how the app handles information related to you.
Please read this policy before using the app. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
In short
- No personal information is collected; no account or sign-in is required
- The app has no internet permission, so no data can leave your device
- The camera image is only shown on screen and microphone audio is only used to calculate a decibel value; neither is recorded or saved
- No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
1. Information we collect
Measure Toolbox is a utility app that provides a compass, bubble level, ruler, protractor, sound meter, flashlight, magnifier, mirror, light meter, magnetic field detector and barometer.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information, nor do we collect device identifiers, location, contacts or usage data. The app has no account system; all features work without signing in.
The app does not request the internet permission and is technically unable to send any data to a server.
2. Permissions
Camera: used only by the Magnifier and Mirror tools to show a live camera preview on screen. The app does not take photos or record video, and the image is never saved or sent anywhere.
Microphone: used only by the Sound Meter to calculate the loudness of ambient sound (a decibel value) in real time. The app does not record audio; the audio data is discarded immediately after the calculation and is never saved or sent anywhere.
The Flashlight switches the camera flash through a system interface. It does not need the camera permission and does not open the camera.
Each permission is requested only when you open the tool that needs it. You can deny it or revoke it at any time in system settings; the other tools keep working.
3. Sensor data
The compass, level, light meter, magnetic field detector and barometer read values from your device sensors (accelerometer, magnetometer, light and pressure sensors) to show measurements on screen.
These values are used locally in real time. They are not stored as a history and are not uploaded. The app does not access your location; the altitude shown by the barometer is estimated from air pressure.
4. Data stored on your device
The app stores only the calibration values of the ruler and level in its private storage. Other apps cannot access them.
You can delete all data at any time by clearing the app data in system settings or by uninstalling the app.
If you have enabled backup on your device, Android may back up these values to your own Google account. We have no access to those backups.
5. Third-party services
The app does not include any advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The app is distributed through Google Play. Depending on your device settings, Google may collect diagnostic information such as installs and crashes, which is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, the law or our operations change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a new version materially changes how data is handled, we will notify you prominently in the app.
